Halftime!!!

Writer's picture: Lori K. AutryLori K. Autry

Here is the news..........................7 days completed! That is awesome for me these days. I have stayed the course. Here is the better news...........................7 lbs down!!! I kid you not!! I have the pictures of the scale to prove it. Don't get too excited about seeing those pics though. Ain't gonna happen, yet.

Here is what I have learned so far.

I am an extremist. I am either all in or all out- -usually. Which can be good when I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. This is the nugget that I am taking away from this seven days so far. I am making conscience choices with food. I am choosing healthier options. I haven't cut out a single food group and I am still losing. I don't have to be extreme to see results. I can still eat fruit and lose. I can still have a few carbs and lose. I can even have a slice of bread or a few crackers. I don't have to panic. Portion control and calorie reduction is obviously working for me.

These Plexus shakes are easy to drink. They are filling! I like the ease of not having to think about what I am going to eat for lunch or breakfast. They are low in calories and have lots of nutrition. So those are all great benefits to drinking them. When I am eating a meal I try to fill up with as many vegetables as I can and eat a protein. I am not really that hungry anymore. When I am hungry I eat though.

I honestly believe not eating TRIGGER foods is a huge help. Trigger foods for me are sweets. The one thing I haven't allowed myself to indulge in is anything sugar related, except fruit. If I eat grapes or apples they don't make me want to eat more and more. However, if I eat chocolate chip cookies I crave the taste and would prefer the junk over healthy. My biggest problem is convenience and laziness. It's harder to eat healthy because it takes much more effort to prepare food rather than drive through McDonald's or to eat a bowl of cereal.

I am halfway through the challenge and I am already excited about the changes.............
