YOU LIAR! #scale #keto #bloodytruth

Yep! That is now what I tell my scale. You liar!!! The truth is the scale only shows fluctuations in weight. Sure it is accurate when it comes to how much you weigh. It isn't accurate in telling you how much you gain or lose in fat. The fat is what matters anyway.


For example:

Water weight

Hormone changes

Not pooping

Ate too much the night before

Inflammation



See my face has changed. The scale can't measure fat loss.

I still get on the sorry sucker though. I get on the scale just so I can torture my mind. Even knowing all of the above I still get on the scale daily. However, now I am not a slave to the number. I weigh, as in my physical weight, a lot. Period! I do. I don't look like how much I weigh. THANK YOU JESUS for small blessings. But it is nice to see a drop in the scale when it finally shows my progress.


I started back low carb on 1/14. Today is 01/29. So for two full weeks I have been doing HFLC. (high fat low carb). I enjoy this way of eating. I don't feel deprived at all. I am taking a ketone booster, enhancer, whatever you want to call it. I fully believe it helps! The reason I say that is I am only two weeks in and I am already in ketosis. I wouldn't know this without the help of my little friend the blood ketone monitor. In all honsety it has been a DIET SAVER!


I was frustrated that I wasn't skinny yet after two weeks. :) I wanted drastic, measurable, results NOW. So I was getting a little depressed that the scale wasn't showing much. I didn't know if I was in ketosis (which means the body is running off of fat and not glucose). Without switching into ketosis it is kinda pointless to follow a KETO diet. If you aren't in ketosis then you are just eating a bunch of fat for no reason. Anyways, I just said the heck with it and spent the money to buy a blood ketone/glucose monitor.


I couldn't get to the parking lot fast enough once I purchased the little contraption. I put it together in the car and tested right then. Well, well, well....I was at a 1.2~~~ a ketosis state is .5. Later that night I tested again and was at a .5. When I had tested the first time I had drank my ketones apx 1 hour before. So I know they helped boost my levels of fat burning.

I have tested several times since then. I have been up to 1.6 which is a good number. So I am doing this KETO thing correctly!!! Slowly but surely my body is turning into a fat burning machine. Testing in the evenings I get a higher number. I test in the mornings and get a low number. I found the reason for this is something called "the dawn effect". It means your liver pumps out glucose more in the morning as a way to help you wake up and get moving. God has designed us so awesomely cool.




I have read though that you can be in ketosis and eat too many calories and still not lose weight. So I am putting a watch on that part. :)

In a few months I am going to be 15lbs down. I am claiming that RIGHT THIS SECOND. I am going to be one size down and at least 15lbs down too.


Also my little contraption "My friend" measures glucose, hemocrit, and hemoglobin.
